How fragile prints are packed

What happens between the last layer and your hands.

Every print leaves the workshop wrapped for the courier journey. The goal: zero shifting, zero pressure points, zero stress on thin walls and joints.

What gets extra protection

  • Thin walls and overhangs — wrapped in foam wrap or air pillows before any other material touches them.
  • Articulated joints — padded so the joint can’t take a side impact through the box.
  • Painted and sanded surfaces — soft tissue or foam wrap touches paint first, then sturdier filler goes on top.
  • Tall thin pieces (swords, staves, antennae) — wrapped lengthwise in a foam tube or a rolled sleeve, never standing free in the box.
  • Multi-part assemblies — each part bagged and labeled, then nested in the box with filler between them.

Standard box

For pieces that fit inside a single carton (most orders):

  1. Print wrapped in foam wrap, air pillows, or tissue depending on surface.
  2. Filler (crinkle paper or foam peanuts) on the bottom of the box.
  3. Print centered in the box, with at least 2 cm of filler on every side.
  4. Filler packed on top until the box closes with no shift when shaken.
  5. Box taped, labeled, and handed to Packeta.

Box-in-box for delicate pieces

For paint-sensitive, tall, or fragile pieces:

  1. Print wrapped + secured in a small inner carton with its own filler.
  2. Inner carton centered in a larger outer carton, with filler in every direction.
  3. Outer carton handles all the impact; the inner carton stays still.

This is the default for: warhammer-scale props, articulated dragons with thin joints, painted display pieces, and anything taller than 25 cm.

Reused materials

Where it’s clean and structurally sound, we reuse cartons and filler. Reused materials are marked. If you’d prefer a fully new package, ask — no charge.

Damaged anyway?

If a parcel arrives damaged, photograph the outer box before opening and contact us with the photos and order details within 48 hours. We work with Packeta on the claim and reprint or refund at no extra cost.
